Events

The Department of History organized Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions on 14th August 2025 at 1:30 PM in the College Seminar Hall as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

The competitions were conducted on themes centered around Indian Independence, freedom fighters, and national integration. The objective was to enhance students’ writing and oratory skills while fostering a spirit of patriotism and national pride among them.

 

  • 1st Prize – Anjana (B.A. Malayalam)
  • 2nd Prize – Akhila (B.A. Malayalam)
  • 3rd Prize – Nahma (B.A. English)

The winners were congratulated and commended for their outstanding performances. The event was both inspiring and enriching, providing students with a platform to express their thoughts on the values of freedom and unity.

 

The Department of History organized a special film exhibition of The Legend of Bhagat Singh on 14th August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Seminar Hall. The screening provided students with an opportunity to revisit the remarkable life and sacrifices of one of India’s most courageous freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh, along with his companions. The film served as an inspiring reminder of the nation’s struggle for independence and the enduring values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.

 

The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. An interactive discussion followed the screening, focusing on Bhagat Singh’s ideology and its significance in the present context. The programme, organized by the History Department, fostered a spirit of unity and national pride among the participants, making the film exhibition both educational and deeply inspiring.

 

Department of history conducted 'AZADI KA AMRIT FEST' 2024 with varieties of programs including collage making, face painting, patriotic song, Quize and speech on 12/8/2024 to 14/8/2024.

  • Department of history conducted POTHICHOR charity program on all Wednesdays in weekly.The food was  collected from the students. The collected food was successfully distributed  to government hospitals in Nilambur and Manjeri.
  •  2017-2020 batch conducted food donation to Nirmala Abhaya Bhavan, Moothedam on different occasions.

 

History department conducted inter department Rangoli fest in the college in 2016. It was won byMicro biology department.
