Fathima Arts & Science College, Moothedam, in association with IQAC, inaugurated its Rapid Response Cell (RRC) on 26th August 2025 in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Government of Kerala. The initiative aims to strengthen disaster preparedness on campus and empower students and staff with essential response skills.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Aswathi V. P. (Cell Coordinator), followed by the presidential address by Rev. Fr. Dr. Shibin P. James, Principal. The inauguration was presided over by Mr. Vinod Kumar, Tahsildar of Nilambur Taluk, in the presence of dignitaries from NDRF, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, local administration, and college management.
The NDRF team, led by Commander Mr. Sandeep Kumar, conducted an awareness session and live demonstrations on flood rescue operations, fire safety drills, first aid, and CPR training. Students actively participated, gaining hands-on experience and practical knowledge in disaster management.
The establishment of the Rapid Response Cell marks a significant step towards building a safer and more resilient campus. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Jose Parakkunthanam, College Superintendent, appreciating the efforts of all contributors.
