The Department of English took root in 2013, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in English Language and Literature. The M.A. English program was introduced in 2018, further strengthening the department’s academic contributions.
Beyond academics, the department plays an active role in co-curricular activities, organizing department fests, literary tours, and seminars. It fosters an environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and research. Additionally, students from other disciplines benefit from English as a mandatory subject, ensuring they develop essential language proficiency, communication skills, and analytical abilities.
The PG Department of English is committed to providing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to literature, language, and writing. Our programs, B.A. English Language and Literature and M.A. English, offer a wide range of courses covering novels, drama, poetry, literary criticism, linguistics, and literary theories.
Our department is committed to fostering a love for literature, enhancing language skills, and encouraging critical thinking. Whether you are a student eager to explore the power of words or a faculty member dedicated to inspiring minds, your journey here will be one of growth and learning.
Together, let us strive for academic excellence, creativity, and meaningful discourse. I look forward to a productive and enriching experience for everyone.
