The Department of English took root in 2013, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in English Language and Literature. The M.A. English program was introduced in 2018, further strengthening the department’s academic contributions.
Beyond academics, the department plays an active role in co-curricular activities, organizing department fests, literary tours, and seminars. It fosters an environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and research. Additionally, students from other disciplines benefit from English as a mandatory subject, ensuring they develop essential language proficiency, communication skills, and analytical abilities.
The PG Department of English is committed to providing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to literature, language, and writing. Our programs, B.A. English Language and Literature and M.A. English, offer a wide range of courses covering novels, drama, poetry, literary criticism, linguistics, and literary theories.
The Department of Economics was started in the year 2013 and has an intake of 20. It offers a full-time Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Our objective is to provide well-qualified economic graduates who have qualitative skills and basic knowledge of economic concepts and policies to analyze socio-economic issues.
We will equip our students with skills suitable for the industry and also to seek admission for higher studies in premier institutions in India as well as abroad.
